How to Use Photoshop Overlays in Photoshop
Photoshop overlays are images or textures that can be added to a photo to create a particular effect or enhance its visual appeal. Here are the steps to use Photoshop overlays in Photoshop:
- Open your photo in Photoshop.
- Open the overlay image you want to use in Photoshop.
- Select the overlay image, right-click on it, and choose “Copy” or press “Ctrl + C” (Windows) or “Cmd + C” (Mac) to copy the image to the clipboard.
- Go back to your photo in Photoshop and paste the overlay image onto a new layer by pressing “Ctrl + V” (Windows) or “Cmd + V” (Mac).
- Adjust the size and position of the overlay as needed by using the “Transform” tool (Edit > Transform).
- Change the blend mode of the overlay layer to “Overlay”, “Soft Light”, or “Multiply”, depending on the effect you want to achieve.
- Adjust the opacity of the overlay layer to fine-tune the effect.
- If needed, use layer masks to selectively hide or reveal parts of the overlay layer.
